Rugged ultrasonic anemometer compliant with WMO and ICAO

Rugged and reliable ultrasonic anemometer for wind measurement in meteorological, aviation, maritime and wind energy applications. The WMT700 uses ultrasound to determine horizontal wind speed and direction. The measurements are based on travel time, the time it takes for the ultrasonic wave to travel from one transducer to another, depending on the wind speed.

No maintenance

The WMT700 features a durable all-stainless steel construction with welded arms, clear northbound indication and a single point quick bayonet mount. It has no moving parts and is resistant to natural pollution and corrosion (such as salt, dust or sand).

Accurate measurement of wind speed

Vaisala's patented WINDCAP wind measurement technology ensures accurate results across all wind directions. Self-diagnosis and measurement verification are standard features. With the new WMT704, it can provide wind speed measurements up to 90 m/s.

A heating model designed for cold climates

Four different heating options are available to shield the sensor, sensor arm and sensor body from snow and ice buildup in cold climates.
